Barbecue, Cigars, and Single Malt

It was a glorious late afternoon in Los Angeles – perfect for a roof-top barbeque, cigar, and single malt Scotch “fun raiser” for the Al Malaikah Shriners. I had the pleasure of introducing many newcomers to single malts from Speyside, the Lowlands, and Islay. Guests were eager to learn about the brands, and the difference between “whisky”, “whiskey”, and Scotch. The best question of the afternoon was “How do I know where a whisky comes from”, which led to a discussion about reading a label. The great view was matched by the enthusiasm and interest of the guests, and the fine cigars from Old Oaks Cigar Company, of Thousand Oaks, CA. All in all, a terrific event – With a View!
