Culinary palettes of color, aroma, texture and taste, spiced with the infectious personalities of world-renowned chefs, were in ample supply at the 4th Annual Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival, held at The Inn at Spanish Bay.
The Lexus Culinary Masters – Daniel Boulud, Michael Chiarello, Dean Fearing, Christopher Kostow, Masaharu Morimoto, and Michael Symon – provided enough four- and five-star ratings to form their own galaxy. They, along with other chefs, including Tyler Florence, Guy Fieri, Dan Dunn, and Graham Elliott presented unique twists on traditional menus and stunning new creations of both food and cocktails.
Single malt Scotch whiskies were represented at the Lexus Grand Tasting Pavilion by The Macallan and Highland Park. Uber expressions of Champagne Krug, Louis Roederer Cristal, and Champagne Dom Perignon were among the brands of bubbly liberally served throughout the three-day fest.
The six course Grand Finale Dinner at The Lodge at Pebble Beach was indeed grand, with celebrity chefs Charlie Trotter, Michel Richard, and Gary Danko creating delectable masterpieces. The crowning glories of the evening were two Jacques Hardy Cognacs, each more than a half-century old.
