Arrowhead Golf Club, Littleton, CO

The On the Rocks Bar and Grill’s deck is the perfect spot to enjoy a fine Scotch. The view focuses on the approaching juggernaut of red sandstone outcroppings, 300 million years in the making. The driving range aims squarely at the formidable scene, to the delight of golfers getting ready to take on the Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed course. Arrowhead’s list of accolades as a golf, special event, and wedding destination is as long as the 174-yard drive on Hole 13. First-time golfers are made aware that they might be sharing the course with deer, elk, and a host of other critters. Our server told of a recent discovery of a bear enjoying the remains of a wedding cake in the dumpster!

Glenlivet 12 was a perfect malt to compliment a relaxing alfresco lunch, watching rain clouds bypass this little patch of Eden, golfers practicing their technique, and, oh, that view!
